"One World, One Love, One David" - those profound words are the heading from the Team Archie International site, and so accurately describe the global impact David Archuleta has had, as witnessed by the more than 24 countries, and at least 9 different languages represented on that site, the Worldwide myspace. From the words David sang at his AI Season 7 audition, John Mayer's "Waiting On The World To Change" to the words he sang one night when people all over the world were deeply affected, "...and all the world will live as one", David has come to represent for a large number of people, a coming together in unifying love. The words from a banner for a Chinese forum fansite reworked the famous lyrics of 'Imagine' into a message projecting this thought, "Imagine all the people, David, that supports you. It's not only the United States, but the whole world. I hope one day, you'll meet all of us, and the Arch Angels can unite as one. If you, David, only Imagine." That is where David's amazing ability to emote through song to millions of people from different countries, nationalities, languages, religions, beliefs, and cultures, really stands out. David has 'imagined' it....then he sings it to us, and makes us, millions of us, from every walk of life, believe we can be 'one'.
Perhaps more importantly, he makes us want to be one - one world with one love. As I mentioned in my last article, much has been said about David transcending all the barriers that separate us as people, but I think David's greatest transcendence is in inspiring people to transcend those barriers themselves. When he reaches out to people to care for them and then writes about how much that means to him, as he did in his last blog when he told us of his journey to visit a girl for the Make A Wish Foundation, David inspires us to reach out to people in love in the same way. He invites us to see each other without the hindrances that plague our world, just as he does - in love and acceptance.
With release dates for David's debut album in countries all over the world, those world charts that David used to pour over don't seem so elusive to this 'world idol', as he is dubbed on many of the international websites. David's music goes forth into the world, and so does his heart through the love he demonstrates to all people and through the charities he supports. It is left then only for him to physically go forth, something he has expressed his desire to do in 2009 or in the next few years in his recent December 20, 2008 interview with Fox All Access (full interview below), "well, I'd love to travel. I'd love to, you know, just continue traveling and seeing new places and meeting new people. It's just so cool to....I mean, even in the US, it's like you don't realize how different things (are). It's just like, 'oh, it's the US, whatever, everyone's American', but it's really different in different places and so it'll be cool to just maybe travel the world sometime and see different countries and try different things, foods, to see different cultures. I just think that's something that would be way cool to do."
It would be 'way cool', David, and all the world awaits you.....because you do more than 'Imagine', you allow us to 'Imagine' with you.
As David goes global, I find myself looking at everything with fresh eyes, imagining the possible, as we all do at this time of the year. The New Year brings in a rush of hope for what could be as we contemplate where we have come from and where we are going. What David 'Imagine's in this brave new world, comes as if by an echo from the words exclaimed by another young person in Shakespeare's play The Tempest.
How many goodly creatures are there here!
How beauteous mankind is!
O brave new world
That has such people in it!"
Miranda's view of the world, filled with hope and love towards man, seems far more real and possible than the jaded one in Aldous Huxley's dystopian society in his novel 'Brave New World'. Ah, look what you have made us do, David, you have made us 'Imagine' a brave new world!

Tinuviel - A wonderful article highlighting David's global appeal...and calling. Yes, it seems that David has been called, much like Frodo was called, to humbly set out and accomplish a phenomenal feat.
I want to take this time to thank you for all the wonderful articles you've written here on CDC, and all the time you have put in to support this site and the larger purpose of David Archuleta and his character.
I believe that all things happen for a reason, and although I don't know the reason for a lot of things that have happened in my life recently, there is one that needs little analysis. It is the love that I have felt from you and others who have given to this site and for the purpose of journeying through the character of David Archuleta. I am grateful for that.
I look forward to see where God will take us and our endeavors this year. As long as we move forward with right motives to serve David and others, we are sure to touch the lives of those along the way...and our path will be laid before us.
You have my best wishes and may God's blessings be upon you!
Steve Gallie
As I wipe the tears, I'm overcome with gratefulness for your amazing words. You so easily explain David and how we fans feel and why we're moved daily by this 'Angel'. And thank you for the quality you bring to supporting David. It brings me back daily to read postings and comments that support David the way we should. May 2009 and forward continue to bless us and those that will come to know David's gift. May we, through knowledge and inspiration, reach out to others.
Wow Tinuviel, what a beautiful article! It’s difficult to find the right words to thank you…I’m afraid nothing I say would truly convey how grateful I am for your friendship and your awesome gift, I realized that just as I feel David sing, I feel your words as well, and I have to tell you it is amazing. Thank you T, from the bottom of my heart.
I've been thinking about this concept too. I've been thinking about how David has inspired me to think about how to live life more fully in the next year. To dare to imagine to find new interests or pursuits. He gives me energy and gets me excited about adding some richness and color to the tapestry of my life. And, because of his example, I feel like it's possible. It's possible to imagine and then make things happen.
Thank you T, as always, for sharing your insights through the gift of expression that you have. You've become a great friend!
Sorry if my name confuses... I never know how my name is going to come up any more when I sign in places...daizdfan is also daisychain/Mary. I had a little problem remembering a password and so this is the result...LOL.
Oh Lady T...you will be missed so much. I cannot convey how your words have touched my heart and soul. I hope we can stay connected as you enrich my days. May you be blessed each and every day. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us here at CDC.
I wanted to tell you about how small this world has become thanks to David. Through Team Archie I was matched with a young girl in Saigon, Vietnam. She is a student and she wrote and told me about the birthday parade and party they had in her city for David. It was so sweet...they made banners...and sang songs...and had a beautiful birthday cake. What struck me so emotionally is that I had family and friends who served during the war in Vietnam. One in particular is still struggling with the horror he went through. He went over as a gifted 18 year old boy who like David was a singer and musician. He came back a different person and has suffered for decades. But now when I think of Vietnam ...instead of images of a war torn country... I see the beautiful faces of young people who also love David. May they and David know only peace in their lives.
Here is a link to their little video.

Thank you Steve, for allowing me to be a part of CDC and it's purpose. The friends I have met the world over and through this site, have enriched my life immeasurably. I can't thank God enough for them, and thank you for providing this site that, as Sheryl said, supports David with quality.
You all have been so kind in expressing your appreciation, and I don't feel as though I deserve it. God and David deserve that praise, because it is through God that I have any words to offer, and David's inspiration and example leads me to write about him. Thank you all for your love and friendship. It means so much to me.
Sheryl, I agreed so much with your words that I had to say them again, "May we, through knowledge and inspiration, reach out to others." Yes, may we. May we reach out in love and with genuine concern for the well being of our fellow man. That is all our calling, I believe. Thank you for those words.
Marc, I am truly humbled and amazed that I could have that affect, and it is by God's grace alone I can do anything. Thank you Marc for being the great friend you have been to me. You and Mary are both heart's treasures.
Mary, David does, doesn't he? Here is a young man who lives his life in full color. He's so overflowing with color, he's like a technicolor wonder. He splashes it on everything and everyone he comes into contact with. He paints our world with vibrant living color, and inspires us to do the same.
Judith, my friend, you have touched me and enriched my life, of course we will stay connected. Isn't it amazing that one person can reach an entire world full of people, touch them in the same profound way, inspire them to reach out to others and connect, thereby bringing love, peace, and healing into the lives of so many? Because if all that David did was touch us, then that would be a great thing, but it wouldn't have any further affect. He inspires us to reach out to one another and then love is sparked and shared. That love in our lives brings about peace and healing for us and all that we touch with that love. May this circle, this web spun out all over the world, be unbroken.
Thank you Tinuveil for all you have written here and this last wonderful and so true article. This has been an amazing site to come to and read. You here say what my heart feels. Thank you all.
Dear T,
You wrote this so eloquently. It is so true, David has an incredible ability to touch people from all over the world. He brings us all together with his simple and very honest nature. He moves us with his beautiful and powerful voice and he has an incredible ability to show appreciation for the simplest gestures.
I am so thankful that I have had the privilige of finding David Archuleta in my lifetime and I have met so many truly amazing and wonderful people like yourself, because of him. Thank you T for all that you have shared here...I am grateful for your wonderful words and insights. That goes for you as well Gallie and all my other "friends in David" that I have met. He truly inspires us all to be better people and in doing so, helps us to reach out to each other.
Take care all,
Katie
"David, if anyone now living can teach us how to love the world, You Can. I am deeply grateful for being able to share this part of my journey with David with all of those here at Counting David's Character. I have made friendships that, hopefully, will last a lifetime. David has brought us here, he has connected us all, and for that I couldn't thank him enough."
Oh my dear Tinuviel, these words of yours have made me well up with mixed emotions as I recall everything that we've shared with you here in CDC for the past few months, the highs and the lows, the laughter and the tears, the giddiness and the deep thoughts. Even if it will be your last post here, I am so thankful for having gained you as a friend because of David thru CDC, and I share the hope that this friendship will last a lifetime. The things that you've written here and everywhere else have made me feel a special kinship with you that transcends mere friendship. Because of your exquisite way of defining the true meaning of selfless love which God wants us to spread thru David's example, I have experienced a meeting of souls with you and many here, and for that I am deeply grateful to you.
As an international fan of David, I am greatly moved by this last article of yours in cognizance of how a force of nature David has become in my life and the lives of other global fans who can only dream of hoping to or have yet to meet him and experience him live. And with David's statements of his wanting to travel and see other countries, that great dream is nearing a realization that leaves me in hopeful anticipation of something wonderful happening soon.
And I quote from a song in West Side Story:
"Could it be? Yes it could. Something's coming, something good, if I can wait.
Something's coming, I don't know what it is, but it is gonna be great!"
(Could it be DA World Tour 2009?! Oh, what joy! What joy!)
i have never seen that interview....thank you so much for posting it....our david is a true gem, a rare find and we and the world are a much better place with david as a positive influence on today's music and this generation.
i believe that the magic that david possesses is that he has such an overabundance of love in his lil ol heart that it spills out onto everyone that comes into contact with them, which then fills up the next person, who spills it out onto others and so on and so forth...i know that the spirit is his compass and it is evident that the spirit is using him to spread a message of hope & love and is inspiring those around him to come together.
i too can imagine a world that david imagines...although i have always found myself to be a realist, david has taught me that this life is exactly what you make it.....that there really are no boundaries (barriers?) that limit us except for those that we set up ourselves.
david has brought a smile and a desire within many many people to aim for the sky, to be the person that god has created them to be, to embrace themselves the way that they are, and always strive to raise the bar, but also to accept unconditionally those that we come into contact with.
i thank god for this wonderful, precious gift that is david archuleta......who would have thought that this inspiration would have come in such an adorable little package from a 17 year old from a small town in utah....ah.....he caught us by surprise and blindsighted us....how sweet it is!!
much much love to the archuletas from northern california!

Tinuviel and CDC,
THANK YOU so much for pointing to our Team Archie International site ("David Archuleta International") as testament to the profound way David has united us fans from all corners of the world. We stand by our motto of "One World, One Love, One David" - the global friendships we've forged with one another because of David's inspiration transcends not only physical distance, but cultural, ethnic and political differences too.
We will post a link to the CDC homepage on DA International. We hope that you would also kindly post a link to our homepage (http://teamarchie.com/international) on your site.
Thank you and God Bless!

Tinuviel - I am a bit tardy in my post - but I was delaying coming to read what I had heard would be your last article - I wanted there to always be one more to read. Thank you for being such a wonderful supporter of David - not only his music but of his kind soul and purpose- the real purpose as has been said of this journey. I want to thank you for also being there for me in times of joy and in times of challenges. I think you are "way cool".
*Sorrow shared is halved, and joy is doubled* - Native American saying.
--with all the great people here - the joy has been more than doubled.
I look on with wonderment and joy as David goes "global" (though still waiting for some significant radio time here in LA!) - and it is going to be "way cool" - David Archuleta.
Tinuviel -- I want to tell you once again how much I have enjoyed reading your articles here at CDC. You always bring up so many good issues and express your thoughts about them with great feeling and beauty. Thank you for sharing your ideas with us!
ArchieFanDoc -- I think that your comment about postponing reading this article so that there would always be one more of Tinuviel’s pieces to read here was lovely and poetic -- kind of like much of Tinuviel’s writing!
I think that it is great that so many people in so many places have formed friendships due to a common interest in David Archuleta and his music. I am happy that I have “met” such great people here, and I look forward to continued postive interactions in the future!
T,
A very beautiful article. It is very moving to think of the world as living as one. If we all took David's example, the world would, indeed, be a better place. We would live by good moral standards, believe in God, and treat our fellow human beings as ourselves. What a better world it would be.
Thank you for all the wonderful articles you have written here. They have been a great inspiration.
Thank you B, AFD, Brenda, Kathleen, Accord, Crownjewel, Larrisa, and Solana for your kind words. Again, I am humbled to have gained your appreciation and can only direct it Above.
Crownjewel - it does seem apparent that David is led by the Spirit in a message of hope and love, and it also seems by this observation that you made that it is a message being heard and responded to, and that brings much hope, "overabundance of love in his lil ol heart that it spills out onto everyone that comes into contact with them, which then fills up the next person, who spills it out onto others and so on and so forth."
Solana, my soul-friend....I feel it too. Isn't it amazing that we can feel this soul-ship with David and with each other? I thought of this quote...
For all of us who are joined in soul-ship....thank you David for bringing us together....
William Wordsworth - “Though inland far we be, Our souls have sight of that immortal sea which brought us hither.”
...though we be far apart, our souls are not.
Thank you for each of your friendships, and I hope, as many of you have expressed, that those friendships will continue on.....
